"Talking Climate Change" Workshop

If you've had the experience of someone backing away from your enthusiastic or passionate talk of climate change, this workshop will help!

Talking Climate Change is a hands-on, role-playing practice workshop focused on interpersonal actions. It teaches techniques for finding out where an individual is in terms of their readiness to change behavior, in terms of adopting climate-friendly behaviors or even becoming climate activists.  Depending on where a person is in the process of becoming actively involved in doing something about climate change, the nature of one’s interactions with them should differ in ways that are designed to move that person along the pathway to action.  The workshop also includes material from social psychology about techniques of influence, and identifying which kinds of people are most promising to spend one’s time on if one is seeking to get more people active on climate matters.

By Public Transportation

The #35 bus runs every half-hour on weekdays and Saturdays and every hour on Sundays, and stops at the corner of Middlefield and Charleston, one block from the church.  For schedule details, go to: http://www.vta.org/schedules/SC_35.html .

The #22 bus runs frequently on El Camino.  From the Charleston/Arastradero stop, it is a .9 mile walk northeast on Charleston to UUCPA.  (~15 minutes walk - you are about halfway when you cross Alma St.)

The nearest Caltrain station is the San Antonio station.  From there you can take the #35 bus (see above), or a pleasant 1.7 mile bike ride or walk through the Greenmeadow neighborhood.  For Caltrain schedule details, go to: http://www.caltrain.com/timetable.html.  You can also catch the #35 bus from the downtown Palo Alto Caltrain Station.
