Come hear about the benefits - and challenges - of replacing natural gas from local residents who are using heat pumps and other alternatives, and a contractor who will discuss costs, installation requirements and maintenance.  Experts will be there to answer your questions.

Peter Cross, a Palo Alto resident, built a totally new home and installed a heat pump system for water heating, space heating, and cooling.
 
Nicole Kemeny, a Menlo Park resident, remodeled her house an put in a heat pump water heater
 
Pierre Delforge, an energy engineer Natural Resources Defense Council, will discuss the environmental impacts of natural gas and explain how heat pump technology works for both heating and cooling processes.  
 
Mike Rebholtz, a contractor with HVAC Alternatives in Menlo Park, will discuss the costs of using heat pump technology, what's required for successful installation, and maintenance needs.
