Finally, eight years after 350SV coordinator Mark Grossman started advocating for it, Congregation Beth Am has a contract for a solar carport on its Los Altos Hills campus.
The project is self-financed and will reach break-even in about seven years, after which it will yield thousands per month in energy savings. The project gained momentum when congregants formed a local Dayenu Circle climate action group. Another big impetus was getting financial support from the Inflation Reduction Act.
